Kathryn Moriarty guest teaching at LBA

This week we were happy to host Kathryn Moriarty at Littleton Ballet Academy. Miss Kathy was Artistic Associate with Dayton Ballet during part of the time Miss Ali danced there. She taught dancers in Ballet 4A and higher, observed rehearsals, and shared her humor, beautiful personality, and wonderful expertise with us!!! We can't wait to have you come back again soon.

As a young dancer, Moriarty trained in her hometown of Milwaukee with Jury Gotschalks, Madame Xenia Chlistowa and Lupe Serrano. Further scholarships enabled her to study in Australia at the ScullyBorovansky School in Sydney, The Australian Ballet School in Melbourne and with Madame Agnes Babicheva in Adelaide; and Norway at the Ballettinstitutet and the Norwegian National Ballet School in Oslo. Moriarty was a principal dancer with Milwaukee Ballet, and danced solo repertoire with the Norwegian National Ballet, Hamburg Ballet and Cincinnati Ballet. During her career, she worked under the artistic direction of Jury Gotschalks, Anne Borg, Jean-Paul Commelin, John Neumeier, Frederic Franklin and Ivan Nagy. Known for her stylistic versatility and dramatic interpretations of her roles, she has danced a wide range of works by such classical and contemporary choreographers as Peter Anastos, George Balanchine, Nicholas Beriosoff, Dermot Burke, Jean-Paul Commelin, John Cranko, Birgit Cullberg, John Neumeier, Rudolph Nureyev and Marius Petipa.
